The extension was built in a live school environment and adjacent to the main entrance gate and the existing school building entrance meaning health & safety was our top priority. “James Armstrong, of Arken Construction, was contracted to build an extension to the school – Scoil Asicus Naofa, Strandhill, Co Sligo which commenced in January 2014 and was ready for occupation six months later. The extension consisted of two classrooms, an office, two Learning Support rooms, a toilet and a large lobby.
I wish to commend the professionalism and efficiency with which this project undertaken. I met with James Armstrong on a regular basis to discuss progress and he was always co-operative, pleasant and willing to meet any request I had with regard to the building. Every subcontractor, without exception, who worked on the site during this time, was equally courteous and efficient.
The standard of workmanship was superior in all areas and I can only say it was a pleasure and a delight for me to witness the whole project progress from start to finish. Since I became Principal six years ago I have overseen two summer works projects, but the school extension was my biggest to date. I have found that this was the most seamless and stress free of all, in spite of the enormity of the work and the fact that it took place while school was in progress.
